Toy - Making Safari through Southern Africa
FREE Workshop
View the photos from our Toy-Making Safari through Southern Africa!

Description

Discover toys and games that have African origins at this fun program for kids aged 6-9 years old. Your child will be able to use their creativity and with the help of a few props will go on a safari through Southern Africa. They will learn about the 5 countries that comprise this region along with general information about the people and animals living there.

The workshop activities include your child making a safari hat out of recycled grocery bags and making a replica of a Southern African toy that they can take home at the end of the workshop. There will also be a group activity to utilize your child's imagination and creativity to make a toy from recycled materials just like the children of Southern Africa. This toy will remain with WorldPlay and will be shown on the website and at various functions throughout the years to come.

This program is supported in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. The Council is a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

There is no cost to participate in this safari but each workshop has a limited amount of space available. We ask that you pre-register to ensure we have a space for your child! To register or for more information, call (770) 517-8167.
